Welcome
Welcome to the Summer season of the Midland and Western region. Our summer shows are starting early in May with Glenamaddy EC on the 9th of the month with Deane's in Donegal hosting on the 23rd.
Dressage at Corrandulla show is taking place on its usual date of the last Sunday in June, the 27th. Along with the other tests, the Potential Dressage pony competition will also be held. The competitons then move up to Sligo to Woodlands EC on the 11th of July where a full range of tests will be run. And finally, the regional finals will take place at Creagh EC (near Ballinasloe) on the 15th of August.
One difference in all the Summer season shows is the reduction of entry fees by €5/test.

Silver Spurs
The Silver Spurs is a competition for riders under 21 years of age. It focuses on the riders ability, with the aim of helping riders improve in dressage which is the basis of all other equestrian disciplines. A training day is being held to prepare riders for the Silver Spurs qualifier on the 25th of June in Mulingar. This training day is being held in order to allow potential competitors to ride the qualifying tests. This is a great opportunity to get expert advice and improve your dressage.
This competition is not aimed solely at DI members. It is open to any rider under 21. There have been many previous show jumper and eventing participants and winners of this competition e.g Nicola Fitzgibbons. The top three winners of each category (Pony, Junior and Young Rider) receive a €500 bursary, which enables them to pursue further training that otherwise may not have been attainable.
