Creagh winter show

Although the weather was quite wet for the start of the day it wasgreat to see good entries for the second show in our winter season.Starting in reverse order with the higher levels first the Medium classwas the first to start. With Elaine Murphy on Eurisco winning with agreat score of 67 and Jennifer Hyland on Portphilip CD second.Elementary classes were next with the Registered riders trading placesfor 1st and 2nd. Mary Mitchell and Western May were first in Elementary43 with Sally Ann Millar and Wandondiego taking second. These tworeverse for Elementary 59 with Regina Daniels taking third in bothclasses. Elaine Murphy again on Eurisco got very high score of 77 inElementary 43 to win in Category two.
In the Novice again we haddifferent sections between Junior , Registered and unRegistered.AlannaCazabon Sullivan and Sunflower Vinny got top score in the Novice 22 with65.86 with Majorie Hardiman and Cregenna Clover getting top score inNovice 27 with 66.78
Prelim classes were next with one test Indoorand one Outdoor luckily the weather started to brighten. The mendominated the Sportsman section with Pat O Neill from Clifden onIlanuara Shadow winning Prelim 18 and second in Prelim 7 to PeterHiggins on Kylecrow Lad. Peter had to settle for second in Prelim 18 .Great to see the number of sportman riders increasing. Also moved toSportmans this year was Alywn Moran who was placed in both competitions.New members also Sportman who performed very well were Bartley Conroyand Noreen Higgins.
It was a joy to watch the U12 competingwith such confidence in amoungst the large horses.Jane Field was firston Creganna Clover in Prelim 7, second with Rathnaleon Spideog and thirdwas Catherine Gorton with Kenilwood windsong all getting over 62percent. Prelim 18 saw Catherine picking up first place and Jane onRathnaleon Spideog second.
Registered riders were well up innumbers. Category one werent held back by the Riding Club dinner dancethat was on the night before. Maybe the lack of sleep helped the nerves.First in Prelim 7 was Mark Mc Cullough on Edenvale Panache with 71.5percent, 2nd Maria Griffin on A Pizza De Action and third was ToryNicholson on her aptly named Grey Area. Prelim 18 saw a change in theplacings with Gina Heaps on Gabanna Bay claiming first place and MariaGriffin second again.
Scores were also high for the registered tworiders with Eilis Von Cramon winning Prelim 7 with 72% and second toElaine Murphy on Nino Manuso in Prelim18
Unregistered ridernumbers were low mainly due to the amount of new registered riders. 1stin Prelim 7 from Tuam was Evelyn Coyne on Another Choice with MerelZydelaan on Des Artist taking the honours in Prelim18.
